Le Praktina FX a été présenté pour la première fois à la Photokina de Cologne en 1952 et mis sur le marché en 1953. Ce modèle porte le numéro 27740. La classification des Praktina est très difficile, le numéro de série et la présence d'une seule prise synchro-flash classe celui-ci en début de production. Les modèles ultérieurs auront deux prises synchro-flash.
